CONGRATULATIONS to the Franklin High School Wind Ensemble! The Franklin Wind Ensemble performed at the Middle Tennessee Concert and Sight-Reading Festival at MTSU on March 12, 2009. For the second year in a row, the wind ensemble received straight superior awards on stage and in sight reading. This qualifies the band a second "Sweepstakes" award by the Tennessee Bandmasters Association and a second performance at the State Concert Festival.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band Member Emily Hoffner for winning a scholarship to attend the 2009 Sewanee Music Festival. Emily will study with high school and university musicians under renowned conductors at at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee from June 20 through July 26.

CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band members Katherine Aydelott, John Boyd, Rhea Johnson, and Alice Ye for being accepted to the 2009 Tennessee Governor's Schools. Katherine and John will be attending the School for the Arts at MTSU. Rhea will be attending the School for Scientific Models and Data Analysis at ETSU. Alice will be attending the School for IT Leadership at Tennessee Tech. Also congratulations to Emily Dunay for being selected alternate to the Governor's School for the Arts and to Ted Ellis for being selected alternate to the Governor's School for the Humanities.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band member Emily Hoffner for placing 1nd in the High School Horn Solo Competition at the Southeast Horn Workshop in February 2009.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band member Katherine Aydelott for being selected to perform with the Music For All National Honor Band. Katherine was selected by audition to join 91 other talented high school musicians from across the nation in Indianapolis March 18-21, 2009. The students will perform under the baton of Dr. Gary Hill from Arizona State University .
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band member Jason Lesnick for being selected to perform with the Music For All Honor Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Jason was selected to march with 300 other talented students across America on New Year's Day 2009 in Pasedena.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band members Emily Hoffner, Katherine Aydelott, and Emily Dunay for being selected for the Curb Youth Symphony. This outstanding orchestra is comprised of high school students from Tennessee , Kentucky , and Alabama . The Curb Youth Symphony is part of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University .
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band members Jamie Dreher and Ben Wibking for being selected as National Merit Scholar Finalists!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Franklin High School Wind Ensemble! The Franklin Wind Ensemble performed at the Middle Tennessee Concert and Sight-Reading Festival at MTSU on March 6, 2008 . For the first time in a long, long time, the band was rated " Superior " by all the judges. This is an outstanding accomplishment for our band program as it ensures that the Franklin Band will be awarded the "Sweepstakes" award by the Tennessee Bandmasters Association. This award only goes to bands that are deemed Superior in Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading performance.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band member Emily Hoffner for placing 2nd in the High School Horn Solo Competition at the Southeast Horn Workshop at Columbus State University in February 2008. Emily played Richard Strauss' First Horn Concerto in E-flat.
CONGRATULATIONS to Franklin Band members Emily Hoffner and Chris Bontempi for being accepted to the 2008 Tennessee Governor's Schools. Emily and Chris will be attending the School for the Arts at MTSU: Emily for Horn and Chris for Voice.
