Our Director

David Aydelott is a 1987 graduate of Hickman County High and later Middle Tennessee State University.  Before his appointment at Franklin, Mr. Aydelott served as the Director of Bands at Lexington High School in Lexington, Tennessee, as Assistant Director and later Co-Director at John Overton High School in Nashville, and most recently as Director of Bands at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood.  During his tenure at those schools, students distinguished themselves both on the marching field, the concert stage, and in individual and chamber settings. 

 A recipient of the National Band Association's Certificate of Merit, Mr. Aydelott was recently elected to serve a second term on the Executive Board of the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestration (MTSBOA), and was the Equipment Chair for the Tennessee All-State ensembles in 1998 and 1999.  Mr. Aydelott is an elected member of Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity, as well as MTSBOA, Tennessee Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Tennessee Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha.
